Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985 in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister of the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix was an athlete of the highest level and discovered her love for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her first race, Felix placed second in the 200 meters race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school in 2003 and was signed by Adidas to become professional athlete. Following that, she was a student at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was presented with her first Olympic award at 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece. Felix ran 200m in 22.18s, setting the new world junior record. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the youngest winner in the world in the distance of 200 meters. In 2007, she won the title in front of her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She always finished at the top of the podium in every event.
